Slate Veneer Over Brick Fireplace
Im about to install slate veneer over a brick fireplace.
I opted for the Lath & scratch coat method VS. direct to the brick, although the brick fireplace is sound. Few Questions, does the slate need to be sealed? Did I do an overkill with the lath and the scratch coat? Thanks |

Re: Slate Veneer Over Brick Fireplace
im not sure about the sealer, but i wouldnt have spent the extra money on lath, unless the customer wanted it.

Re: Slate Veneer Over Brick Fireplace
Overkill on the scratch and lath, imo, slate does not have to be sealed, but if you want the color to pop, you can enhance it with sealer. G
