Saving Scored Concrete

roughing in a BBQ right on top of a pool deck.outside shell 6/8/16's 40''h/ 40''w, L shaped length 14'/8' . 3 inside boxes, 2 /w built for storage so Im using 4/8/16's . It ; very cut up Theres's a small patch of dirt where my tender making cuts /w a quiksaw. We get in that rthym where i m just yelling out cuts so he he right on top of it.I notice the cuts are coming pretty quickly cause he move the cut pile closer on to the concrete deck.Dont notice it till the end of the day I see a mud board on the ground scored through.I lift it up and What do you know!! scored lines about 6''L. 1/4''d .pISSed off i tell him ''what the f@ck did you do!!.First Thing he says ''oh they 'll never notice''.We could patch it up'' Anybody have any ideas on saving this,I mean patching it up the customer will still see it , It's scored pretty good.My other option is cutting it out and putting down a band of brick which Im gonna have to eat.it ' s about 7' to the closet ends. Any suggestions are welome .I'm worrying about the job first ,then I'll let the the homeowner know about it.

Re: Saving Scored Concrete

eat it and make it right to the home owner.where were you when he moved to the concrete?now unless i missed something you are using a quickie saw, which mean you can move it where you are working.so that means more than likely he was in your view.im sorry but you couldnt have been working that fast that you couldnt see what he was doing.
bottom line is even tho he is the one who ****ed up,you should have been on top of it.

I find that , no matter the experience level of who you hire, you still have to play babysitter. If the babysitter doesn't watch the baby, Bad things can happen. wich makes the babysitter is responsible

Suck it up and make it right with the customer. If you don't you will pay for it many times over.

What is the pool deck? It can probably be repaired.

Re: Saving Scored Concrete

Today I ended up cutting the concrete out 8''w 7' L to put a band of paving.I told the HO to go supply the brick and Ill supply the demo, cement plus My time to install them .They agreed to it which really gave a lesson. That little problem could of easyliy turn ugly if it was a pickier customer, eating the whole deck would of been Money out my pocket and lost profits due to small mistake. That which I was most worried about. I actually cut out that small section where my tender scored.Thinking about keeping as a shine or throwing at him

Dont be sorry stacker.Im new and Just starting out on my own.I'm not that fast.I was building the inside storages w' the 4/8/16's.My guy laid them down on a mud board and cut them right through.I just got in that little zone where Im more consintrating on buildiing rather than babysitting.I was looking for suggestions on easier ways of saving it rather than eating the job or playing blame game.

Sounds like a nice patio if it's getting a BI BBQ. If it was my house I'd say put some bonder in there and grout it.
