Sandstone Foundation
I've got a customer in need of repair on sandstone foundation. She's working with a really low budget but I think it should handle partial replacement.
One area is damaged from inward movement from fill. It's about 20 ft or so total replacement. My thoughts are removal, vertical rebar 32OC, concrete filled block, rebar at tie with 2 part epoxy. Maybe even a pillar or dead leg on each end of the repair. Any input?

Re: Sandstone Foundation
I assume you are talking about a block wall thinner than the old sandstone wall. The new wall will be stronger, but it could give a bit because it is not as thick or stiff. - The old wall held for a long time because it was fairly stiff and didn't need the lateral support from the first floor. Usually the old stone foundations are not was high as the newer ones.
If the wall has first floor joists running parallel to it, blocking between the first 3 joists will give lateral support to the top of the foundation wall. A good inspector would carch this, but they are not all good. - Minimal cost and valuable insurance for you and the owner. If the new wall is perpendicular to the joists, you are good since the anchor bolts will tie everything together. Good luck!!!
