Rocker Breaker?

OK, I am not a mason but a good freind of mind is. He seen something and now he wants one. It is a rock breaker. He does a lot of fireplace profiles and breaking rock with a hammer has to be done out side or it messes up his profile. He seen a device that looked like a hydraulic shop press. It had a blade and a hydraulic jack. You put the rock in it and jack down and the blade broke the rock. I have looked all over the net and can not find anything like it. If some one could help me out it would be nice. I will leave and not come back here as soon as I find out something. I am sorry for posting here but I have ran out of places to look for any infor on this device.

Re: Rocker Breaker?

look at places that sell brick paver tools. I have seen what you are talking about. Check out Bon Tools, they have an online store.

Re: Rocker Breaker?

When I first started tending we had one. We called it the stone splitter. I know exactly what youre talking about. It sits on a tripod. The top part holds the blade and is adjustable for different size stone. You throw your stone in bring the blade down to your stone and push the handle down until the stone splits. There great pieces of equipment and a must if you do alot of natural stone work.

Yahooed it after this.. here ya go. Yahooed "stone splitter"

Re: Rocker Breaker?

I have an x-18p from park industries and a stone mason 50 from cee jay tool. these are the best splitters on the market, made for stonemasons and quarries not pavers. both of these companies have websites- park industries and cee-jay tool
