Pricing Stucco Removal 2 Story House.

I am bidding a 2 story house That needs the stucco removed. How much of a PITA is it using a chipping hammer. It seems like a pain. I think there is a bit of money in but I need to rent a lift. This one contractor I do work for is a pain in the Arse. I palced sod for him and he complained the new sod was taller than the existing sod I told him to hire a lawn man to cut it.

Stucco removal is a big pain in the arse. For a whole-house removal,I would sub it out to a demo contractor, mark it up and call it a day.

+1 We just did 36x10 of exterior stucco removal. Its heavy and difficult to remove, especially if they went nuts with the staples.

If you must, cut the corners with a diamond blade, chip-out around openings with a hammer and flat bar. Then use your tool of choice the separate the stucco system from the wall. Have wire cutters handy.

If it was the entire house, I wouldn't hesitate to sub it out.

only thing i could add to that is make sure your tool of choice hits a stud when you pry with it or you will paying for new sheetrock on the inside of the house.speaking from exp.we were hired to remove brick from a house that was to be moved.had our laborer go and start it.he was using a long spud bar and was going to town remove large chunks of wall.when the homeowner came home, she almost died.he had missed the stud on about 15 spots and had holes all over the inside of her house.needless to say,we didnt make any money on the removal, after paying the drywaller to finish and paint.but she was nice and hired us to lay the new brick when she moved her house to the farm.

Re: Pricing Stucco Removal 2 Story House.

The building is a block warehouse and is about 9000 sqft of surface area. Most of the stucco is hollow underneath. I am going to have my guys work on this. I have a week planed for 4 guys. I have a good idea of what it will take after seeing the project. I think I can make a couple of bucks.
