Precast Anchor Options

I am working on a project were precast pieces are to be installed above stick on stone with a metal stud/densglass wall backing. The precast pieces are (very) roughly 6"x4"x48" and aproximately 50lbs each. I am looking for a good way to anchor them to the wall. Airrscraft makes a s.s. clip system that will work, and for now that is our plan, but it is rather expensive and the lead times are rediculous.

Options?

TIA

Unless you are willing to assume an undue amount of liability and an engineering review as well as the associated expense, I would stick with the specified anchoring system.

My standard response to "it is rather expensive and the lead times are rediculous" is:

You bid it off the specs, so it is expensive only to the owner, and I would presume you signed your contracts with plenty of time to order the specified materials.

Good luck!

However, if you are in the pre-bid or VE stage, there are probably some options.

RFI to the GC/Architect/Engineer/Owner to request a change in specs.

Good luck with that if the lead time is already an issue.

I would normally agree with you, but the circumstances on this project are a little different than normal. Its a desgin build, that should be classified as a build then design. The project is on its 12th set of prints.
So what are the other options? Any possible options will have to be submitted and reviewed by multiple eng firms.

Re: Precast Anchor Options

Without looking at wall sections and sill, parapet, and column details, I could not even begin to guess.
