Lay N Block


what is the average cost to lay a 8" block ? do u charge by the block or base it on the amount of block to be layed, sqft,? .example;20'x20' 4 coarse high, no steps ,staight runs .what is the averge cost ?

i charge 3 bucks a block(labor).1.00 extra to grout both cells..50 to fill with zonolite.

In my neck of the woods a mason is expected to lay min 300 + block a day on a perfect running wall ( corners not included ) The conditions for this is a new block foundation with block delivered into the foundation pit( basement )
If its a below grade off of footer 3' max depth. Then 250 block a day

Rehap is a completely different animal. The fastest mason can only lay as fast as the block is stocked where its easy access for him to maneuver and lay that block..

We usually have 1 or 2 labors for every 4 to 5 masons depending on site condtions.

Good thing you dug up this 4 year old thread. I about missed all te usefull info in here.
