Gypcrete? How To Remove This Stuff?

A previous owner leveled the garage floor using a concrete leveler. I think it may be gypcrete or something. What they did was cap the drain in the center of the floor and then poured this stuff. Looks like it is just in the center of the garage and a super thin coat on the outside edges. It's easy to break up the thick portion, but how would I get up the super thin stuff? I want to make the drain workable again in the end. Floor underneath looks VERY nice.

Any ideas?

Was probably what is known as a self leveling compound (SLC), something tile setters use a lot of-- on occasion. If it is breaking out OK in the thicker part of the area without bringing up any of the original concrete, most likely a bonding agent was not used, and a flat bladed floor scraper should make short work of the rest. If not, makita makes a nifty hand held concrete planer, and you can probably rent one.
