Footing Details

We are pouring a new footing, but have to do so in sections, since this is a repair of walls, so we have to keep to walls up, while we work the other 2. Also we are dropping everything 8". Other than rebar at the end, whats the best way to stop and then join the footing together on the next pour, do you guys use a keyway also?

Re: Footing Details

Run some rebar through the joint. In many areas it is nor necessary to reinforce the footing for a basement wall. - Commercial is different.

We bulkhead off with plywood drill holes for your rebar to exted through then take a 2x4 and 45deg cut the edges lengthways and nail in to your plywood to form a key to lock footings together.
