Re: Crew Size

I was at five masons and two laborers this summer. Now down to four masons no laborers. Work has been very slow past few months. It's picking back up now that cold weather is coming. Ironic huh.

Re: Crew Size

I just started out on my own a bit less than a year ago.

Ideally I would just have myself plus one other fairly skilled helper, more or less the set up stacker uses. In reallity, this year I had me plus usually one laborer.

I kept being worried about bringing on new people this year--I didn't wanna jerk guys around by hiring them on full-time when I was only booked a few weeks in advance. Work just kept falling into my hands just at the last moment, like say right before a project was finished and I was all outa work BAM I'd have all sortsa worthwhile leads and I ended up being busy almost all year.

Anyhoot, next year I should stop being a pussy, hire the guys I need.

Re: Crew Size

Me and 3 masons, my labor went out of state to help his uncle and I haven't really needed to replace him due to the work slowing the way it did.
