Concrete Walls Finishing

Have basement walls in NY, the walls are rough [sandy texture] concrete screed. Looking to apply smooth finish [plaster], walls have stayed dry through 4 seasons. Should I install a membrane [SuperSeal] between concrete and plaster? Should I waterproof interior walls [exterior surface impossible]?
Many thanks in advance for all advice.

I don't know much about basements, but so long as you use a cementious plaster, not a gypsum one, you should be fine, no barrier needed.

Use plastasized stucco mix with acrlic 60 addtive for the finish it is helpfull in a bit of water proffing and yes us a product that penatrates the surface of the wall to insure the best protection you can get. Apply the stucco mix with a hopper gun and finish tools to bring smooth. Some people like the knock down look or the orange peal look.
http://www.vseal.com/products/sealer...FRBbagodwGo8lg this is a v-seal that is highly guarded and used
