Concrete Block Brickledge On ICF Stemwall
I need to add a brick ledge to a four foot garage ICF stemwall. Grade will be 32” to 36” above the top of the footing. The best way seems to be to lay 4 rows high of 4x8x16 block on the footing. The footing is wide enough and strong enough.
I’m trying to figure out what, if any reinforcement should be used in laying the block. The block will be flush with the reinforced ICF wall so at first I was thinking little or no reinforcement. Anyone have any experience with a block brick ledge against an ICF stemwall? Any advise on reinforcement? |

Re: Concrete Block Brickledge On ICF Stemwall
Just screw in some wall ties to the ICF webs to attach your 4" CMU you could also fill the block solid or lay solid 4"

Re: Concrete Block Brickledge On ICF Stemwall
thats what i would do.you're not doing anything different than laying 10 to 12 courses of brick on you footing.
