Anyone Used These Block?

I'm about to build a 35 meter wall in France. I ordered some blocks and got these (see attatched images) has anyone used these before. If so how do you use them. I assume the circular hole is for a steel rod, anyway i'm confused. any help please!

I assume you mean 35 meters long. If it is 35 meters high and you are that confused on the block... run away from this one, trouble is coming!

Anyway, no attachment that I can see.

Yes, sorry, 35 meters long. I'll try and attatch again, but I think I worked it out, I was just being a bit thick. They don't mortar their perps (vertical joints) out here. And the holes must be for steel rods for reinforcement as it will only be single skin. Its 35 meters long and about 1 meter high.

I guess you have to stack those vertically. Not much way to do a half lap and still use the steel holes. Hope your not trying to hold anything back with those.

My guess is that hole is for a conduit....with steel there would be more room for the grout, rebar being virtally worthless w/o it...good luck

Re: Anyone Used These Block?

The supplier should know how they are properly used.

The block is typical low strength unit made on a "big board" machine.

I guess it proves the French do not want to use the superior German or American systems.

1 meter high is not that such and an interlocking unit would not use a footing or any mortar.

If you have any information on the size of the unit and where (manufacturer and/or city) it came from, I may be able to get some information from a friend in France.

Sometimes a hole is just that and nothing else. A place to hide hidden gems? Alas simply a key for the mortar.Rebar? I seen Bob Villa try that on some cored brick. Said it right out loud like he knew. Once a wise man said there are no stupid questions...He is no longer wise. Like a real wise man once told me," Shut up and lay the damn thing".

These blocks need to be perped. They are not interlocking.
