6' Tall Privacy Fence Using 16"x8"x8" Blocks

I'm building a 6' Tall Privacy Fence using 16"x8"x8" Blocks (150' long), just wondering have anyone used wire mesh as support vs rebar ?

Been a long time, but doesn't those blocks come specifically notched for #5 bar?

Then again, I did have a water retention wall to build, maybe different.

Per industry standard, just to keep us on the same page, it is Women Have Legs, WidthxHeightxLength, 8x8x16

In answer to your question, you will need to use rebar and "wire mesh" (I am assuming you mean horizontal reinforcing wire). Rebar will run vertically on whatever O.C. is required for your siesmic zone, probably 32-48" O.C. and horizontally in the top course as a bond beam. The HRW will be placed in the bed joint of every other course of the block.

Peladu, those are called knockout bond beam or RSBB for a newer design that does the same but is molded with the lip, no knocking out needed.

i would use both durawall and and rebar in this wall.vertical rebar every 4 foot on center and durawall every other course.i would also pour a bond beam on the fifth course, and the top course.
good luck

I would agree, dura-wall and rebar vertically.

What are you planning for a footing? The last privacy wall I did a footing for was 3' wide and 2' thick with 3 runs of #4 bar continuous and vertical #5s @ 16" on center.
