New Milwaukee 18V Cordless Set For Sale
I've been using Makita 18V lithium drill and driver for a 3 years.
I recently went to purchase a combo kit and the salesman talked me into the new Milwaukee 18V lithium(this is the new XC series batter, set is not bulky like the previous ones) I am regretting my decision, I miss my makitas and want to unload this combo set, lightly used for about a week. Here's the rundown: Hammerdrill Impact Driver Sawzaw Circular Saw Flashlight Charger 3 18V XC batteries Bag Blades for saws http://www.cpomilwaukee.com/combo_kits/2690-24p.html I paid $550 for the set (3rd battery is mail in rebate deal) and I'd like to sell it for $450. please email me at owen@rubycon.us if interested. Thanx |

If it gets cold where you are in the winter this set sucks. We learned the hard way. Back to dewalt for us, at least in the winter

Re: New Milwaukee 18V Cordless Set For Sale
That's interesting, JLC did a cold weather simulation test and the previous incarnation of Milwaukee's 18V lithiums did very well in the test.
For me it's not really a performance issue, the tools operate about the same. It's little idiosyncrasies. One of the main things I miss is the way the impact driver's light stays on for 5 seconds after the trigger is pulled. I've realized in the last week how often I use it as a flashlight. |

Re: New Milwaukee 18V Cordless Set For Sale
I had the V28 set, until it was stolen from my son's truck...and although they were awesome, plus the sawzall 2 speed feature was nice, I went back to Dewalt as well....

Re: New Milwaukee 18V Cordless Set For Sale
I bought 3 of the older 18V sets. The batteries are crap. The instructions say don't recharge the batteries till their temperature is below 90 degrees. How does that happen when the temperature is 95 degrees plus?
Their "5 -year" batteries last almost a year. When a battery dies it can take out the charger which can then take out a battery plugged into it, etc. Corporate says there is no warranty on those type of failures. Written warranty says 5 years on a charger. Corporate says 1 year only and it doesn't matter what the written warranty says. Milwaukee was a great company, now it's another crappy tool company. |

Re: New Milwaukee 18V Cordless Set For Sale
too true, i bought the milwaukee compact li-ion 18v driver drill this time last year, used it for installing door hardware on 3 house i was trimming, then came time to frame a new house, i was drilling 1" holes in the sil plates to clear anchor bolts, 4 holes at 1" and change batteries, the ni-ca makita i had before could do about 15,
not only that it doesnt have much torque, so i carry my bosch impact driver around most of the time, the milwaukee stays at home for use there |

Re: New Milwaukee 18V Cordless Set For Sale
no, the 18 v COMPACT, not the impact, 1.4 amp model, havent tried the impact though.
on another note, im strongly considering picking up a 10.2 volt compact impact driver or drill/driver, the little pocket versions, not sure which model though. i like how the rigids, actually have a chuck so you dont have to specifically buy teh hex bits Last edited by woodworkbykirk; 11-28-2008 at 06:29 PM.
