Re: Log Splitter Wanted

Well I am looking for a Horizontal 20 ton or higher. Prefer 30 ton, but won't be picky. If you find one that looks like the picture below I will be ecstatic. However, I can use just about any horizontal splitter above 20 tons.

As far as a Maul goes, well I'll be splitting between 20 and 30 cords, I'd like to have a body left when I am done, so no maul, but thanks anyway.

Re: Log Splitter Wanted

I have a Vert/Horiz one. The vert position lets slide the big monster logs over and split off chunks until it is a little more manageable.
Unless you are only splitting perfect 10" diameter logs, I would not use a 20 ton. I have a 24 ton and sometimes it can bog in some heavy twisted knotted logs.

Re: Log Splitter Wanted

A 20 ton is minimum, but I would prefer larger. Like pictured. A Timberwolf TW-2 , TW-5. Something like that.
