Where To Post For An Available Position?
I have a non-trade construction-related position available in our company, but don't want to break any forum advertising rules - is there a place to post this sort of thing? Thanks.
Tim P.S. Besides contracting, I also work in contruction staffing and would be more than happy to help in putting together a human resources or a "Hiring and Firing" forum if there's any interest in it.

Tim
 I think its a good idea. Aside from hiring and firing, perhaps the new forum could also deal with other personnel problems - - compensation claims, unemployment insurance claims, health insurance, benefits in general, etc. Although the specific laws may vary from state to state, there is enough similarity for shared experience to be helpful. Also what about personnel policies in general - - discipline, sick leave, vacation and so on.

Re: Where To Post For An Available Position?
So, are we talking about an HR/Staffing forum or a Job Post section?

Nathan, ever consider adding a classified module?

I was thinking about an HR/Staffing Forum. Something to talk about the issues of hiring and firing - not a job post section. Tim

Re: Where To Post For An Available Position?
Would this not fall under 'Management'? That could make for an active forum.
A 'Classifieds' might work well too. I'm moving into new digs and was planning on unloading a bunch of stuff on E-Bay but would be happy to give everyone here first crack on the good stuff. |

Re: Where To Post For An Available Position?
Not a bad idea Teetor. On most forums it wouldn't since most "business" people like to seperate "Management" into all it's sub-categories (marketing, hr, finance, etc....) but the life of a contractor is typically one of having to do all these "Management" things.

Re: Where To Post For An Available Position?
I am tempted to say that this subject belongs on the 'Business, Inc.' site but I have been over there and that place leaves me in the dust. Watch 'Back to School' with Rodney Dangerfield and I am him.
My observation is that this site is composed of many young people attempting to start or promote their own businesses without the benefit of a BA or MBA. To this end, I feel that a 'Management' forum is appropriate to this board. This is not to be confused with 'Sales and Marketing' which is an entity unto itself. 'Classifieds' would be cool too! We're all going to drive Nathan nutz. Last edited by Teetorbilt; 11-30-2004 at 01:05 AM. Reason: Forgot classifieds |

Grump I've asked you about Chicago work a number of times and you didn't seem to want to talk seriously.

Re: Where To Post For An Available Position?
Last time you asked me I still had a job and didn't really have a need. Since then I finally started my company and you have been in Florida.
Seriously though. If you are insterested in travelling 2 hours to install a roof or two for me, that'd be great. At this moment I don't have anything since everything I have on the schedule has already been assigned but next roof that comes in, we will talk. |
