Suggestion: New Forum

I know I'm new, and maybe a part of a low number of new people, but would a forum that pertains to people getting into the construction industry? Whether it deals with education (as where I am right now) or getting into the business aspect of construction.

Just an idea to build off of.

Cheers,
Brad

Welcome. Keep up the education thing, and work in the trenches for awhile so you know how things really work out in the field. The biggest thing you have to be in this industry is a problem solver.

There's a lot of smart, experienced people on this site who will respect the fact you are trying to learn the ropes. (They might also give you a little sh** too but that's just how we are)

Re: Suggestion: New Forum

I am 23 now just starting to get into the construction management program. I started pouring walls as my first construction job at 16. Not an hour went by where I didn't get bull****ted with and screamed at. Not only was I young, but smaller. I try to make up for my size by busting my ass from start to finish. Did flat-work concrete at 18, then masonry at 19 and I'm still there during the summers. Found a good crew that taught me more things than any of my previous jobs. I think I have a pretty good foundation. Can't wait until school is done so I can git er done!
