Stolen Tools Forum

Would it help to have a forum to report stolen tools? As this group grows, so do the chances of finding some of this stuff.

Re: Stolen Tools Forum

Chris.....Without sounding like the ass that I truly can be, stolen tools are part of "the cost of doing business". You will not make the same mistake twice.

The odds of you recovering your tools is slim even if you have serial numbers for everything!

If they get pawned, you MIGHT recover them! Other than that, let it go and begin anew.

There is NO JUSTICE to be had!

Ever bought any "cheap" tools off a skell? A lot of contractors have.

Re: Stolen Tools Forum

Oh no, I wasn't looking to recover my mitre stand, I already bought a new one. It rocks!! I am over it. It was more in response to the guy who had his trailer stolen, and the guy who had his truck stolen. I think something can be done to deter theft by reporting it, and making it more difficult for people to sell them. It shouldn't be a cost of doing business, but I know it is. Maybe I am just dreaming.

Re: Stolen Tools Forum

Biggest problem is if we all reported our missing/stolen items the web host would probably run out of space and crash!!!!!!!

Re: Stolen Tools Forum

I carve swashtikas on all my tools with a grinder.
So the thieves are using tools with swashtikas on them.
