Saving PM's For Archival Purposes?

I want to clear out my PM box because it has been full for way too long.

I formerly copy/pasted them into a Word Document to have available to view for future reference, but I noticed something when I just checked it out just now.

There is a Drop Down Menu that lists various options.

Move To Folder
Download As XML
Download As CSV
Download As Text

How do I go and make a readable document to be saved for all of the Received and Sent PM Messages to store on my hard drive?

That is what I would prefer to do, but if I have to create a Folder and Move To Folder Name, then I will.

Any suggestions?

Ed

Hi Ed,

I'm no expert but I would experiment and download them as CSV (comma seperated value), this allows you to view them in Excel. Not sure how it would display them, and you may need to adjust columns and rows to view everything, but if it works you can do a search in the document by hitting control / F.

Download as CSV - puts it all in an Excel sheet, not to easy to read but sortable & you can export it to word, etc...
Download as text - pretty easy to read but you can't sort it
Download as XML - just like text but they use XML tags which you could design a program to export single messages, search by tag, etc...
Download them as all 3 formats & see what you like.

I would erase them all and start over, do you think you would actually get around to reading them?
Not being a wise ass, seriously.
