Min. post before starting thread?
Might I suggest after last evenings troll invasion, that a minimum post count be required for starting a thread everywhere but intro's? Just a thought , throwing it out there. And I will admit to not knowing what that would entail, or how hard it would be, just a suggestion.

This is a very good idea. The idea being doable may be the only problem.

It's pretty easy to do, the real question being is it wise?

Sounds good, the only catch is that they will resort to resuscitating old threads or jump in on another one asking the same stupid questions (sorry I missed the party last night)
I think it might be easier to clean up by deleting an entire thread than trying to selectively cleaning up posts in the thread

Without offense to DD or any other supporter of the idea, "what next?".
Rules after rules after rules perpetuates MORE rules. Then what??
Our "Playground" will then have no swings or monkey bars or see-saws for the sake of avoiding any possible consternation or injuries.
Where is the fun in an "Overstructured, Overregulate, Communist" place of enjoyment.

More rules and regulations seldom work for the government on any level. I am a memeber on another forum that is the strictest that I've experienced on being Pro only. The restrictions are enough to keep me from visiting there.
Think of it as the wild wild cyber west.
Good Luck
Dave

People already get SO confused about what to do after they join I think one more rule would just cause problems. Also, a lot of times we try to get them to start a thread and post an intro first. Just two thoughts.

How the heck would they ever be able to make an Introduction Post?
I agree with Malco...
The more rules, the more complex the forum becomes.
I belong to a Home Inspector Forum, and have always been thanked sincerely for providing hands on real world advice and links to content for them to utilize and further their trade specific knowledge.
Well, the powers that be at Nachi.org have recently decided, due to just a few meddling Posters, that the Posting Rules needed to be changed. It has now become soch a Cluster-F**k over there, with posts by Non-Nachi Members all requiring to be Moderated and Approved prior to being positioned into the thread. It has taken between 2 hours and up to 3 days for some posts to get Moderated and Approved.
So, with that Gestapo Censorship Mentality of guidance in charge, I will refrain from posting over their unless they change the rules to allow me the full range of access for posting again, due to others creating a minor disturbance.
I do not forsee this site becoming so micro-managed by strangulation from overly zealousness to censor the public.
Ed
edit:
I just read where you excluded the Introduction Forum, so my glib commentary seems to have gone for naught.

In theory, it would be nice. But in the real world, I like seeing noobs and spammers get flamed, it's just sooo much fun!
