Re: How Do I Add Signature Line To Old Posts

Ed,

If you already have a signature and change it it will change it on all your old posts... but if you didn't have a signature and add one it won't go back and add it. Sorry. I know of no way around this.

Well, that what I would like to know?

Is 500 enough for to push the site up for rankings, plus I have several other forums I need to do the same signature editing in, so they are not all from one site.

Does the age of the post have any relevancy? Is it better to have 500 from the very beginning or better to have 500 current posts with links?

At what point do you get diminishing returns from backlinks or is more of everything just better over all?

Some, but not exclusive to these, are Alexa Site rankings and Google Page rankings. PR 1 through PR 5, with PR 5 pages having the highest Google ranking for being informative, which they determine by keywords, content and by clicks and by backlinks and a whole bunch of other stuff.

Without being highly ranked, it would be like throwing your business card in a drum to be stirred around with everyone elses cards. Lost in the shuffle.

I gathered that was the situation and concern. But I am one who would most certainly ask than not know for sure. Thanks!

Re: How Do I Add Signature Line To Old Posts

Okay, just so everyone else who may run into this problem knows a solution, I found one today.

It only works if you suscribe to the threads you post in and get those e-mail alerts though.

Our actual archiving of our own posts only goes back for a total of 500.

But, if you go to your User CP at the top toolbar and click on all suscribed threads, you will be able to find every one of your old posts to do the manual editing required to add a signature line, if you never had one before. You need to go into the CP, then "List Suscriptions" then click "View All Suscribed Threads" to be able to find all of your posts.

This may seem tedious, but since I did not find an automatic way to do this, at least it works.

Ed,

Look on the bright side, it will take you less time to add your new sig to 3500 or so old posts than it would to post 3500 more times.
