Hey Mods.

Moderators,
Is it possible to denote when a thread was started?
I hate clicking on a thread only to find out it is several months or years old.
I am not trying to be a pain in the a$$ but I do find it annoying.
Mike

I think it's pretty funny when some thread from 2005 - that hasn't had a reply since 2006 - "comes back to life" and all sorts of folks start dancing like the music just started

The farther down the list in each sub-forum it is, the longer it has been since the last reply.

You can see the Last Reply Date before you click on it.

But, just because something is One or Two years old, does not mean that there could not be some really good updated information to put back into that topic.

You can find all sorts of good information in these archive forums.

I think many of us have done a troll post at least once. You start reading an old thread and by the time you get to the last page, you are so fired up and ready to impart your own brand of wisdom or smart arse comment that you forget that the post has a tombstone on it. Why can't a red banner be automatically placed at the end of a thread that is 6 months or older? At least then anyone who posts without admitting that the thread is old will EARN the troll award and we all can beat him mercilessly about the head and shoulders.

I'm not sure you know what a troll is Mike

An Internet troll, or simply troll in internet slang, is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the intention of provoking other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.

Are you trying to start some controversy?

How dare you.

Geez, dubz, give me a break! I've only made it through the 'K's on Wiki cause they keep adding stuff to pages I've already studied. I thought a troll was a small fugly creature that lived under bridges and came out occassionally to harrass people with old jokes.

Since the shoes fits, I gotta wear 'em. I at least try to only make the same mistake twice, though. First , then .

Cool

This can be easily done. Ask Nathan/Admin to automatically turn on "script/code" to CLOSE thread (DO NOT ALLOW REPLY) after certain old age/date (for example, any threads older than 1 year, or 6-month, etc.) ...

Anyone can view/read these old/locked threads for pleasure BUT NOT able to write in reply. A Piece-of-Cake "forum" scripting/programming if it were me.

That is counter productive because of the Advancements of the Trades.

What is Needed or Desired is a "Red Light Warning" upon Opening a particular thread which informs a would-be-poster that more than "x" Months have passed since the last Activity.
