Re: Welcome To All The New Comers

Hello, this site is great. I am a drywall finisher in Florence AL, and I have already gotten several great ideas for advertising, and marketing. This is exactly what I have been needing, advice from people who have been there done that. Locals are usually tight lipped like there is not enough work to go around. I have been finishing for about 14 years. I started out working for someone else but when that didn't work out after about six or seven years I went out on my own. I had no problem doing the work, but had no idea what I was doing when it came to bidding, marketing etc. I had a couple of GC's that kept me pretty busy but then my first son was born and the first time I went a few weeks without any work I panicked and went and got a "job". After a couple of years of a dead end job I started easing back into finishing at night and on the weekends. Now I hardly ever have a night at home, and I'm wondering when I should make the leap back into it full time. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Oh, yeah no advertising as of yet except business cards. All word of mouth.
