Wow, someone spent some time turning those baluster's. Intersting that they would have Hardie/Azek siding (less maintaince) and then go with a wood rails/balusters

STRANGE indeed. I think as I recall, it may have been because of the curved rail.

Yup, if I recall we sandwitched 3/4 steel flitch between two 1 3/4 lvls. and formed the radius with laminations of treated plywood.May have been 2 flitch plates on the left side.

Incredible, but isn't your work a reflection of yourself?

Re: Want To Earn Some Credibility

Thats awesome looking work loneframer. Beautifull home!
3 storys in itself is demanding top cred.

I do see two spots that need a gutter system on the back left side of the house. A 10ft and a 4ft.

I am curious about how that decking on those poarches are protected from leaks.

Love to see closer ups of the roof.

The decks are done with a fiberglass mat/resin much like done in boat hulls.

I was looking at those photos and before I noticed who posted them or where they where from I thought...."I bet this isthe Jersey Shore...."

Very nice work. altho there seems to be two large and sudden whips in what I am assuming to be in the North facing wall...

Lookin' good. How come you didn't fill the gap between the capital and the column as seen in the 2nd picture?

I'll have to see if I can find their numbers, but there are several companies in this area that do it.
Advantage Fiberglass
Custom Fiberglass
South Jersey Fiberglass
Upper Deck
All American Fiberglass
This has been big here since around 1990
We also have had decks done with a product that is basically spray on truck bed liner with a UV topcoat.(I believe Upper Deck is doing this too.)

Yep, saw that too, I think its from all the humidity. Should have gapped the plywood.
