As Per Site Protocol...

...here's the mandatory hello...

We are a husband/wife (Terrie and Ron; hence the "oddball" name!) General Contracting/Renovating company located in St. Albert, just northwest of Edmonton, Alberta.
We offer full service contracting to a continually expanding client base...all of our work is generated by customer referrals. Our primary focus is on complete kitchens and baths; from design through demolition, through all subsequent phases of reconstruction. We tailor our service to fit within the budgetary constraints of each individual customer and deliver a top notch finished product at a competitive price.
Our strongest point (by client testimonials) and a large part of our success, is derived from the "stress free" experience we provide to each customer. Their opinions are unanimous; dealing with one two person team (from start to finish) goes a long way to reduce the feeling of an ongoing intrusion. Much to the contrary, it transforms the process into one of establishing an ongoing personal relationship...networking, if you will. The fact that we focus on one job at a time is another source of our success...
I sub out only my "frameless" glass work; coincidentally, this has been the sole source of our customer complaints...the good glass shops were swamped (6-8 weeks from measure>install) by the recent building boom here. A $29 spring rod and a shower curtain helps ease the pain...welcome to the "Alberta Advantage"

I've been "lurking" about for a while and have occasionally seen situations described, where I felt I may have been able to offer assistance. I've also garnered some good insights while lurking; IMO, there's nothing quite like "been there, done that".

I look forward to sharing my experiences with my fellow professionals...

Cheers, Ron

It actually works really well for the two of us...I tend to focus on the mechanical aspects; Terrie deals more with the finishing side. As most will know, a good partner is invaluable for all the inevitable "oh **** this old R-19's not holding, run and grab me one"; "hold that end while I mark this"; those unmarked (or mislabeled) electrical panels..."nope, nope, nope, yeah...that's it"; ... etc, etc. We share much of the "PR" work, site measurements, design/consulting (artsy-fartsy stuff) as well. I do the estimating; she handles the paperwork. She's a decent boarder/taper, painter, tile setter...she did the "Coronado Stone" on the support column in our photo gallery...we're still working on carpentry...but she's getting pretty good at belt sanding scribes and base/case....

She starts another masonry job tomorrow Am; I'm wrapping up a bathroom...cabinet doors/handles, silicone, plumbing and electrical finals and most importantly...billing.
In short...while it would likely not work for most couples, in this case (with a partner who enjoys making "beautiful things for other people", as she puts it...) it does.
We still manage to find time for our own interests...I post to internet message boards...

Cheers, Ron
