New To More Than One Thing

Hi everyone. My name is Joe. I am new to the Chicago area but have for once in my life been in the right place at the right time. I moved for the best reason a man can, to get away from my exwife and her family. Have been in the trades for 8 years and unfortunatly see myself working my ass off when I am 50. Anyone have some pointers for me in Chicago? The big city where I am from was 60k people so its a little overwhelming. Look forward to talking with some of you guys and learning some things that only experience beyond my years can provide.

Welcome Joe. What's with the working to 50's cr*p? I'm 53, I think, and loving it most of the time.

Older, with 3 seperated ribs and a bruised liver, I can still outwork most of the younger guys. BTW, HOW did I get injured? By doing a simple job that the chicken***t's wouldnt do.

Sorry about my comment working til 50, I am 26 and body is already a wreck lol I do siding, windows, doors, decks, limited framing, and roofing. Actually looking for subs to do all these things for me in the chicago area. Want to be sitting behind a desk ASAP and have unlimited leads for work. Seems like a land of golden opportunity to me down here taking full advantage of it.

Opportunity is everywhere in this country. With your resume, you could be working down here where it's warm.
