New Member From South Carolina

Hi,
Just found this and joined. Just retired with a background in mechanical engineering job but am very familiar with the labor end of general construction.

I am embarking upon an extensive self-remodel of a home I just purchased that was owner-built in 1970-1. It's a three story house with extensive use of virgin pine timber and planking from a textile mill taken down in 1950. (25' clear span basement supported by 8"x14" timbers and several room are floored with 3"x9" heart pine planking).

I'll be asking lots of questions as I encounter situations I've not faced before.

Regards,
Jim
