New To The Industry -- Need Help Pricing My Services
I have just started my business in Florida. I was a business owner in Connecticut 20 years ago. Once I moved to Florida, I worked for someone but recently decided to go on my own. I need help in pricing my work in this area. I have no idea what to charge.
I do all kinds of plumbing with 35+ years of experience. (Not licensed - but did take the Master Plumber course years ago, and passed. My old boss would not pay for the license so I did not get it. But I am planning on getting it now that I'm on my own). In the meantime, I do all types of plumbing, plus handyman, carpentry, electrical, painting, installation of floor and wall tiles. Is there any website I can access for prices in this area? I do want to be fair to my customers, but do not want to price myself out of the industry or low ball my industry co-workers... Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Al. |

Try the "search" function and carry a big fire extinguisher...these kinds of questions will get you some...

Re: New To The Industry -- Need Help Pricing My Services
1: Unlicensed asking for "Professional" help.
2: If you worked for "somebody" in Florida then you should have a pretty fair grasp on the Regional pricing. 3: Asking "others" on this web site "how to run/build/manage/institute/execute/develop" your business will, as J F pointed out, get you some sh*t!!! Just a bit of advice.........No harm or ire intended.

1. STOP doing plumbing until you are legally licensed.
2. Determine your cost per billable hour. 3. Add your desired profit and that is your rate. You can thank me later. |

I hope you are kidding. Did you really start your business without a license?

Electrical? When are you going to get a license for that. You better buy a lot of cracker jack boxes and hope you get lucky. Like me that's how I got mine.
