A Man Who Needs An Introduction...
Good morning. While there are many guys who need no introduction, I certainly am not one of them. I'm just an average Joe who's pleased to find such a great resource such as CT.
I wanted to take a moment and introduce myself to the group here at CT. My name is Robin and I am a deck and dock contractor in Central Florida. I have been building outdoor structures for quite a while now. I currently own Summertime Deck and Dock (I guess I can't post links to the site until I've posted 15 times, but the site is summertimedocks with a COM at the end) after having sold my previous deck and dock company. In addition to Summertime, I also own Deccessories (again, can't post a link, deccessories with a COM) (I know, funny name - the idea was Accessories for your Deck - DECcessories). Deccessories is a maker of fine outdoor furniture (both custom and standard) that is only made of composite decking materials - everything is handmade. Now that the shameless plugs are out of the way, I wanted to thank everyone at CT for their great insight into so many things in the realm of construction and hope that I can provide a small amount of information as well. Also, as a side note, I have overseen and manned the Deck Demonstration Area of DeckTECH for the past 3 years. I am in charge of the Deck Demonstration Area again in 2010 (it will be in Orlando, FL). If anyone has any great product or seminar suggestions, please let me know as I always strive to put on the most informative sessions and the most engaging hands-on activities during the show. Thanks in advance for help with any of my future questions and I look forward to interacting with many of you in the near future.
