Just To Say Hi
Hi all,
hope you are all ok and well. I have been recommended to join this forum and hopefully get some help and advice about all aspects of the building trade and maybe help others. We as a family (wife and two kids) are hoping to emigrate to Calgary (just south of Calgary a place called Okotoks) Alberta around the middle of January next year. We have been in the immigration process for nearly two years now and finally we have our work and study permits come through a couple of weeks ago. We have an offer for our house, so just after Christmas, we will be on our way. We have family that live in Okotoks and have had a few visits out there, where we have secured our jobs and schools. We got our work permits through my wife's job, she is going out as a early childhood educator and I have managed to secure a job with a plumbing company in Calgary, as a 3rd year apprentice. I have passed my level 2 plumbing, here in the UK, so I will have to take an equivalence exam to see where I am with the Canadian plumbing levels. Which to be honest with you, I'm a little worried about. I'm just hoping to have a look at this forum and have a chat with some guys in the trade and hopefully get some hits and tips and just generally get some advice of what to expect. Many thanks, Carl |
