Hi From Southern California
Hi everyone. My husband and I have a general contracting company in Southern California. He's been a licensed contractor in California since before we met. He started working construction in high school, joined the carpenter's union in 1981 and became a licensed general contractor in 1988. We've just decided to incorporate and are going through a re-invention of sorts in anticipation of a possible slowdown (although knock-on-wood he hasn't had a slowdown in 20 years). We've done both residential and commercial construction over the years - both new and remodeling. More recently we have started focusing on kitchen/bath remodels with custom built cabinetry (hubby's passion is carpentry) and granite/marble surfaces. We're excited to have found this forum - looks like a great resource for sharing experiences and advice. Since my husband prefers the hunt-and-peck method of typing I was elected to be the official forum joiner.

Thanks for the warm welcome. We're in the south bay area of Los Angeles county. Recently (for residential remodeling) our area generally goes as far north as the San Fernanda Valley but back when we were remodeling hotels we worked all up and down the California coast.
