Hi! On My Way To SC

Hi All!
Just stopping by to do an introduction. I've made a few posts here but never introduced myself. I'm a 4th generation mason currently living in southwest VA. Contracted around Raleigh for about 10 years untill the immigrants took everything and ran me off.

My wife tells me we are relocating to Charleston, SC. We've been trying despreately to make some contacts long distance but to no avail yet. Hoping you guys can help me. Any ideas on masonry rates or can you put me in touch with some folks that could? I'm planning a trip down there in the next month but it sure would help to have some info in hand before I go.

I'm not a mason, but I would call the brick suppliers and ask the sales reps what is going on.....they probably know the local economy as well as anyone.

Re: Hi! On My Way To SC

I live about 90 miles from there. I grew up around these parts and I know that the northern coastal section (mt. pleasant) in growing rapidly with homes esp. Focus some attention to that area if your into residential work. Charleston is much bigger than my area and you have have lots of options to meet people if you go ahead and look into some assoc.'s or networking types of groups. Good luck, its a cool place.

I'm in Myrtle Beach, about 60 miles north of Charleston, and it's the same situation here. That's the way the industry as a whole has gone.
