Hi All I Am A Newbie From New Zealand

I have been following threads on this site for awhile and have found them
extremely helpful.I think its fantastic that experienced people are so willing to share information and give assistance to those that ask for it. I have been in the Marine Trade most of my life and have recently been seriously exploring a soda blasting operation for anti foul removal on large boats on hard stand.

I have spoken to manufacturers of equipment and done a fair amount of research on the subject though still have an enormous amount to learn. Here in New Zealand the major Marina Operators have banned sand or dry media blasting due to dust and noise !! They only allow wet sanding a laborious and quite dirty operation as old paint flows across the hard stand staining it what ever color has just been removed. a couple of people have tried soda blasting without containment and that annoyed other boat owners whose boats got covered in dust. I have re approached all of these facilities and asked them that if I could totally contain the dust and reduce the noise significantly would they allow me on site. There answer was yes you'd be the only one! So i have been extensively researching a dust / noise containment system that will work. I couldnt find anything that did both so I have been trying to "invent" one. I am making progress and many US suppliers have been very helpful though they all probably think I,m just a mad kiwi. Anyway would love to join in the forums that are into blasting of various types and welcome any suggestions that any of you may offer. I look forward to getting to know some of you and sharing my experiences as I proceed on with my project.
