Hi All
Hi everyone
Ok so I have decided to take the plunge and make a go of it on my own, I have the skills I need (although I am always learning) but I am wondering how you guys started out, what sort of advertising did you use. I just need to get a start and my experience and work will eventually get me referrals, it is just the initial start up. I have worked in construction for 20 years, but always for someone I just think that now is the right time to go for it, customers are going to be fixing instead of remodelling and I think it will be the ideal time to start. Anyway great to be a part of the group and if you feel the need to give advice I am all ears. White Bear |

Re: Hi All
Welcome,
I made too many mistakes when I first started out on my own, most of them were made because I didn't have the financial backing. Cold calling was hard, used the Yellow Pages and word of mouth from friends and family. It took 12 stressful years to build a solid client base and I'm still working on being the "one" who people call. Marketing, promoting, selling your company never stops. Use whatever resources are out there for you. Spend money to make it. And get yourself a good accountant. Currently we use radio ads, t.v. and the internet.
