Hey From Michigan

Hi guys,

My name is Pete and originally from Chicago but have been in Michigan that least 14 years. I have been working in construction since I was old enough to sweep and fetch coffee My whole mothers side is full of carpenters so I've always worked in carpentry forever but my main trade was HVAC up until 8 years ago and then decided to get into more GC type work. I did a lot of rennovations and a few new houses at first but then got caught up in a family restaurant business and have been out of the trade a few years but now I'm back and happy to be back.

In HVAC, I started out as a helper as most of us do and then moved on to fabricating ductwork and custom fittings...I ended up running the sheet metal shop for a couple years and then moved into furnace replacements, new contruction and service. I also spent a lot of time doing boiler work and pipefitting. I went to school two years for HVAC and refirgeration so I spent a lot of time with control wiring also.

I did not like the HVAC field in Michigan so I decided to get a Builders License and put all my experience to use but after a while had to take a break from construction for the family business. I am happy to be back in it and happy to be part of this forum.
It seems like most guys in here take serious pride in their work and everyone does things a little differently which is good!!!!

Thanks for Reading,

Pete
