Hello From The "suthen" State Of South Carolina

I am actually a retired general contrator, but I have a job coming up where I will want to use a nailing gun, and after checking on ebay to see what deals may be available (I hate to spend too big of money for just one job), I became interested in the Paslode gas guns, and then started looking for a builders forum, to ask about their usefullness. I found this sight, and have spent about six hours, reading back postings about the Paslode impulses, and I think they are the ticket for my use.

First off welcome!

Second, avoid the bold for your entire post - makes it annoying to read.

Third, they're referred to as "nail guns" not nailer guns.

Fourth, Paslodes are not going to be your cheapest to buy/run and they are generally heavier to use. Your choice of nail gun depends on what you're using it for, for how long, etc. I'm not knocking Paslodes, I have the Paslode framing nailer but I also have 1 battery operated nailer and 5 others that run off a compressor. More important is having the right tool for the job.

Hello Ed, live in the upstate on Lake Secession, just 200 feet from Lake Russell (which is below our dam), about 15 mile from Lake Hartwell, and about 30 mile from Clark Hill Lake. About 40 years ago, I lived at Columbia in eastern NC.

Lakeman.....Know Columbia well. Back in the early 90s I ran a mail route and stayed there the better part of the day until it was time to turn around and pick up mail going back to Rocky Mount. Last time I ws there...nothing had changed.

Lakeman.....if you get a chance, let me have your emai..or email me taskmasters@suddenlink.net

Hello Canuck, Hey take it easy on this 76 plus year old youngster, you are on me like an old teacher I had 70 years ago in the 1st grade.
My apology for the highlighted post, it was not intentional, many hours experience on forums, but 1st post on this one, intended to highlight the title only (although, when you mature, to my age you will find the bold much easier to read)

Oh, and by the way I was using nail guns before you were away from your first grade teacher, and I have heard them called words I dare not use here.

AaannD 4th as I stated, before joining the forum, and posting I spent over 6 hours searching, and researching Paslode gas framing guns, and as I want to shoot both spikes, and nails, have one job to do, I think I could show you where the Paslode gas nailer would be my best, and most economical purchase.
Oh, and thanks for the welcome.

lakeman,

I didn't intend to sound like a "teacher", my apologies if you took it that way. I was just trying to offer some friendly advice for someone new to here.

As for your choice of nailer, you know the job you need it for better than anyone. I was just offering the pros and cons as I see them. Like I said, I have many types of guns and each have their place to be used. For example, I generally pull out my compressor/nailer for framing a deck. On a roof top deck I did this year, I used only the Paslode because I didn't want any cords or hoses on the roof for safety reasons.
