I've basically been doing this for a year and a half. Prior to this I did sales for several years. At this moment, I'm a Project Supervisor as well as carry out some duties that the General Contractor does (i.e. getting bids from subs, making sure subs are on site and that the project is completed within the time frame originally given). I also do expediting services as well. I recently started doing that. I don't mind because it's an easy way to earn some good money to the side. I'm also responsible for "marketing" ideas. Our website was just completed last week and about 90% of what's seen on that site is due to my input and ideas. I also produced the song as well (I do music production to the side as well). I'm currently taking online courses from Nova University for their Project Management course to better my knowledge about this industry. Perhaps within a couple of years I might just go and try to take the test to become a licensed General Contractor, but until than, I'm just learning from the General Contractor I work for and all those sub-contractors on our job sites.
