Hello!

Hey everyone! I'm John from Centerville, OH (South Dayton). I was a member on this site before, but I hadn't logged on in a very long time, and I forgot what my logon name was. So I created a new one. Besides I think it wasn't what I wanted in the first place lol.

Anywho, I'm a remodeling contractor and have been in the industry for almost all of my life from when my dad was in the business. He did a lot of commercial, and I'm doing residential work. I've had to make this my part time job to work a more steady schedule in my father-in-laws shop as a machinist, full-time. We do a lot of design and build of machines for the automotive and food industries. Our biggest customers are GM and Nestle, and now Behr (makers of Chrysler cooling systems).

When I'm doing construction work, my main work is is tile setting, painting, and finish carpentry. I've just spent the last year remodeling my new-to-us house from the ground up on the inside. And might I say, I hate wallpaper more now than I ever did lol. It was built in the '70s, and hadn't been updated since, so pretty much everything is new now except a majority of the sheetrock and the kitchen sink. I still have marble to lay in the entry and some trim to finish, then I can start on the exterior. And I can only imagine, by the time I get done with the outside, we'll be talking about building a new house farther back on our 5 acres. Which is why I've tried to get back to this forum. I'm in the planning process of a new home for if/when we build in the next 5-10 years. And I have some repeat customers who want some work done I may not have had a lot of experience doing and I might need some tips.
