Great Site

Im just getting started with my buisness and could use all the advise and resourses I can gather. Ive been on contractor talk but never introduced myself. There seems to be some people with good advice and I would like to be a part of it. Ive been in the trades for 9 years. I started working as a laborer for a small contractor (roofing, concrete, drywall, barns, basements ect.) eventually becoming a foreman for a deck and small bridge building company. The last four years I worked for a large window and door corporation. Started in the warehouse to wait for a slot in the installation department. I was impressed with the company because of its service and meeting customer's expectations. After a few years of swinging a hammer I became a manager and found myself behind a desk working 75 hours a week. I did like the company but the hours away from my family was not worth it. Last Feburary I got back from a year and a half tour in Iraq. My job was not the same after that. I quit my job to be back with my family and am now working on starting my own buisness. Currently I am working for my old boss (friend) building decks until I get on my feet. I am currently studying for my builders License here in michigan. I just bought a utility truck and getting the rest of my tools next week. I want to get into window and door installation, decks and roofing. I have one guy who wants to work for me and other help if needed. Anyway great site and look forward to seeing it grow.
