G'day From Norway
Hello folks,
just saying a warm hello from Norway. I am an Aussie who moved here 10 months ago and am in the building and renovating trade. I enjoy this site and the expertise of those on it (and the sharp wit on occasions ) and would just like to say thanks to many of the regular posters. I have enjoyed many of the threads and have used the search function to find past threads of interest. You would be surprised what you find sometimes!!! Anyway, expect to see me lurking and asking the occasional question. Cheers, samthedog. |

Re: G'day From Norway
Try this one out on your co-workers at breaktime. If someone asks you how you feel, tell them, "Jeg er solten og torst, men fyte foerste". The spelling might not be correct, but the pronunciation should be effective.
Let me know if they like it. By the way, don't say it if there are women nearby. Or do...they're pretty emancipated. |

Re: G'day From Norway
Lol, yeah seriously lost. I married a Norwegian girl and 5 years later I am in Norway. We moved here because of cancer in her family which is why I have gone back to the trade. Boy I am glad I did spend time on the tools. I was a professional fire fighter in Australia but there's no calling for fire fighters here
ps. those big beers have gotten me into a bit of trouble in the past but they are hard to beat after a big day in the sun and a nice piece of rib fillet on the grill!! |

Re: G'day From NorwayQuote:
The town is located in Telemark and is about 2.5 hours drive from the capital Oslo. As far as work goes, I am mainly doing carpentry however having had experience with painting I do that too if the price is right I have to be flexible as when the weather blows up I need to find work indoors to do so that scratches outdoor renovations etc.. in winter and early spring. Probably the bulk of my work comes from fitting out windows and doors and painting however I have also turned my hand to tiling, bathroom and kitchen installations too having had experience in those fields in Australia. I'll try to post a link so you guys can see some some of the scenery I enjoy on a daily basis when I hit 15 posts.samthedog. |
