30 Yr Painting Contractor Signing On
Hello All,
Found this forum on Google. I sold my painting business a couple of years ago and went into another type of business entirely. I kind of miss the action (and the aggravation) and that's why I joined this forum. Also, while I may not be the smartest guy around but I might be able to impart a couple of tidbits of helpful info to any painter types who ask. I wish I had a resource like this when I was running my business. Richard Sinor |

Re: 30 Yr Painting Contractor Signing On
Hey Richard,
It's nice to have guys like you on this site to answer questions. First of all I am new to this site, but I think its very interesting, and is nice to have a place to go to ask questions and chat with fellow tradesman. I do however have a question for you, since you have been in the business for awhile. I own my own business called Final-Punch Builder Services, basically doing punchout and warranty repair work for some builders around town. currently I am working with homeowners in a 400,000 dollar home, everything is going well except for one little problem, since you are a painter I thought I qwould ask. The homeowners have a therma-tru fiberglass front door painted with the gel-stain to simulate a wood finish, the door looks great, however the homeowner is complaining of a white substance that keeps reappearing on the inside of the door, I guess she wipes it off and it comes right back in a few days. Speaking with a few people I think i have learned that the problem is arising from the fact that the finish was not applied properly, to much humidity? Have you ever seen or heard of anything like this? and if so does the door have to be stripped down and restained? any suggestions you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Jerry Final-Punch
