Van FINALLY Done-pics Inside

*Remembering comment awhile back about it'll always look like a U-Haul truck, and think'n, nope...sure dont*

Got the diamond plate vinyl in last week, but have been busy with work (both sign guy and myself and finally got some free time to get the rest of the stickers installed...kinda why I never posted before until this was done.

All the guys at the shop gotta kick outta the flames, 50/50 as who liked them and who did'nt but all understood the principal of them. In fact driving home I had 3 buddies call and told me to slow down since flames were shotting off the thing LOL!! Guess the attention getting idea was a success!!!!

Next month new stereo system being installed (new CD player, 4 channel amp, door speakers, and subwoofer) then interior trim panels are getting wrapped with carbon fiber vinyl to dress it up inside until i can find a nice seat set-up then I'll call'er done...bad habit of sticking more money into things than they're worth, but I like my stuff to look nice no matter what it is-I'll never buy a new vehicle, but try to give off a professional look regardless of what I have.

Give me comments, the good, the bad, and the ugly LOL!! It's all paid for so I could care less about any negatives

Re: Van FINALLY Done-pics Inside

Here’s something for you….before I even read your post I looked at the pics (bad habbit but I do it all the time)
I would have never guessed it was a U-Haul, that’s freakin impressive.
I think you did a great job with the exterior!

Post interior pics when done.

All in all, I like it.

Re: Van FINALLY Done-pics Inside

Thanks for the kind words! Just wish I woul've took some before pictures for comparison, darn near thought about driving back by the place I bought it and getting a picture since they have a ton of them on the lot 4 sale, did the same thing with my race car with before/during/and after shots and it's very dramatic what paint and rims will do to any vehicle.

Not too bad cost wise either-van was $4553 on the road including taxes and licsencing, $1000 in the paint/body work, then $106 for simulators, and all signage is horse traded with the guy that did it since we've been freinds since high school and I'll do small odd jobs when I have time that he thinks is worth alot more then they are since he just wants it done. Van came with new skins and the diesel/tranny runs like a top so very lucky in that regard.

I should've bought it years ago, I kick myself everyday since life is soo good having everything I'll ever need at my disposal for those unexpected things that seem to pop up on every job. Now the outside is done up for rubber necking advertisment, just need to make the cab more comfortable since I spend the most time in there personally.

IHI, do you mind sharing where you got a set of wheel simulators like that for 100 bucks?

Re: Van FINALLY Done-pics Inside

Dont laugh...I'm an e-bay freak LOL!!

Actually cound've been cheaper yet since the guy was out of Lincoln nebraska and my buddy comes through there once a month on his way back here to visit so I could've just had him pick them up and save the $15/shipping fee.

They're polished stainless sims, and the center caps are pretty darn snug once you get them hammered into place so I'm not worried about them fallling off. The $300 i looked at used set screws to hold the center caps in place and prevent them getting curb checked and falling off, but did'nt want to invest that much into sims.

Iowa- I'm just curious. What kind of gas mileage do you get? I bet it's not that bad.

Re: Van FINALLY Done-pics Inside

Dont know why pics aint showing up, I've run across that myself quite a few times visting site...just get a empty box with a red X in it, I'll post some links like my race cars are in sig and hopefully that'll allow opening:

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-...cubevan002.jpg
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-...cubevan003.jpg
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-...cubevan004.jpg

As far as milage, it has the 7.3 IDI (non turboed) and the C6 trans and who knows what rear end gear...just know she sings pretty loud to me trying to keep up, but getting passed all the time on the interstate so have to assume minimum of 4.11's. Only time I checked mpg, we had a job an hour north of us and drug my trailer loaded with job material, truck itself weighs 10,640lbs, trailer, weighs roughly 2200lbs empty, and had a total rolling load (everything truck/trailer/material) of just over 16K. Filled up before leaving, drove stright to job, then straight back to station I filled up at that morning and averaged 14mph. I'm used to getting 10mpg with my other truck F-150 w/302 so I was pleasantly suprised with the mileage this ole road whore got...esspecially with diesel at the price it is currently.

Here's the rendering of how it shoulda been as seen in my race tranny builders eyes LMAO!!: Dont know if I can/should even post it

I've seen them from the get-go.

Something’s got to be seriously wrong, usually I am the one with the computer problems.

Re: Van FINALLY Done-pics Inside

Grumpy needs to get in here and flip me some on the flame job LOL, you guys are too kind!!

Wondering on my dump truck when i redo that if I should stick with the same theme....most of my work stuff is red, so will undoubtly paint the dump trucks cab red as well-box is and will remain standard black, but will only be lettering the doors with logo and number like the above cab portion of the box van is. Should I hit the flames on that as well or just let it be??? I just love the polished diamond plate look, but dont wanna get too awful gawdy and get entered into a lowrider magazine FWIW, the dump will be just an occasional vehicle for demo's unless I start advertising small load hauling (which I probably will so that trucks makes some money too) so dont want to get too carried away for the minimal visual exposure it will recieve.

lemme know opinons on that since i'm still in the planning stages of what to do with it.

LOL, dont get me goin on BBC's if they are'nt running somewhere in the 9's on pump gazz, what's the point it's a 383 just like the car, but it has junk heads (untouched Dart Pro 1 230's), and Comp cam-also not the best IMO, and is severly undergeared only trapping 5900 and should be crossing at 7400 to optimize motors powerband and it'd help with traction as well since it'd pitch rotate better-right now chasis is unloading causing horribly inconsistant 60's. The truck should easily go bottom 10's once the combination is tweaked, but it's always just been a back up ride that bites me whenever I drive it LOL!! Snapped the end of my crank off in the car with 2 points races left (1 double race weekend) and I was 1st for our track in the Div 5 Summit Super Series and 2nd in our track points for Modified...shoulda just dropped a loaner motor in the car to try and finish strongly fighting to keep #1 in SSS and trying to overcome and hold #1 for track points....but I did'nt. Sat. cant remember what happened exactly, but think it was a lousy R/T, then sunday water pump had a bad connection which led to it getting about 20* warmer than it should when I staged and ran .01 off and casued me to go out and ended my '05 season.
