Trailers With Ladder Racks?

How many of you haul ladders on your trailers?

I've been wanting to get a trailer for hauling/advertising for a while now. Don't need nothing big though. Just nice to keep the pressure washer, sprayer, step ladders, ect in. Saw one the other day with ladder racks on it & I got back on my wanting a trailer kick.

The problems I think of though are ladder size issues. I want something small. 14' would be max. Thinking if I got a 14' & put a 40' ladder on top I would have 6' of overhang to work with. Do you think that would be to much overhang to drive around with? Trying to figure out a way to make the new Avalanche into a work truck.

Re: Trailers With Ladder Racks?

My trailer is only 12' and always have a 28' ladder on it. I have had a 36' on as well. I didn't think the overhang was anything to worry about.

No Way would I be using a new Avalanche for a work truck! Too nice to beat up on. And to think I worry about scratches on my old 95 chevy.

Re: Trailers With Ladder Racks?

Not seeing it in person is what was getting me worried. Was just thinking of some of the sharp bends I often take on route. The more I think about it the more I realize how little 6' is. Especially since it'll only be moved once a week or whatever.

@dayspring...
The thing is I went out to buy a work truck. Then I got to looking at the Avalanche for kicks, and started thinking "I could always get a trailer". After test driving it there was no turning back. I don't plan on beating it though. Just use it to tow my trailer job to job. Then I'll probably be driving my car to work everyday.

Re: Trailers With Ladder Racks?

this may sound ghetto, but I have a 4'x8' open trailer with a rack welded to the top. And I only cary a 4' ladder. I guess it's all realitive. I have a covered trailer too, but it is too big, for what I need. it just sits there, untill I have a small door order that the door company wont deliver.
