Trailer Shore Power

Ok, I have been working on my trailer here and there. I have about half of my stuff done on it. When I am all done I will post pics of all of it. Today I worked on the power. I have to order a flanged inlet for the outside for power. Right now I just have an extra extension cord plug on the end of my wire. Here are some quick pics I took with my phone (the quality sux, I know) I used 10-3 wire (I could not find 10-2 at HD 5:30 sunday night when I started this project) I ran it through 1/2" flexi crap to protect it. I put in 2 20 amp circuits.

Looks nice. That Carflex is easy enough to work with, and offers some degree of protection. Don't see your GFCI's, though. Perhaps you put one on the cord that you plug in. Now you need some lights!

Bah... GFCI's are over rated... I am planning on using a GFCI cord... If I can find one in a 10 gauge version... if not I will swap outlets or breakers.

Re: Trailer Shore Power

Yeah, most contractor's aren't exactly jumping up and down in excitement about using GFCI's. It's one of those things that will make an OSHA man wig out, though. Even if you can't find a #10 cord with a GFCI on it, you can always get the one that's just a little stubby cord with a GFCI on it. Those magically come out of gang boxes and tool trailers and appear at the head ends of cords when an OSHA man rolls in. Just take a pen or sharpie quick and scribble on it "Tested (some date a few days ago)" and initial it.

I was planning on getting it lettered... But I did a garage project and I liked it a lot... So I am thinking about how my name kind of limits me. I would like to get into home building in the future. So I am thinking about changing things up a little bit. I dont want to waste money till I know if I want to change my name or not.

Re: Trailer Shore Power

Did you try out the toaster oven in the second pic?
Be honest, that's not for cooking food, that's gonna be your source of heat
during the cold winter days....

Come on .... tell the truth.

You have to know me to understand... The FIRST thing I put in that trailer was the fridge. The second was the toaster oven. I love to eat and the toaster oven does great. I am getting a new microwave for my house so I will be putting my old one in the trailer as well. I also have a heater in the trailer for the cold days.

Re: Trailer Shore Power

Since you're going to be putting a flanged inlet on for the shore power, perhaps you should put a bulkhead fitting in for your air line too?

Already planned on it. I just forgot to grab the parts to finish it the other day. I think I will put a T in so I can have 2 outlets on it.

All you need now is satellite TV and a hammock.

Nice job.
