Trailer Is Here, Lettered....
hey guys, some of you know i ordered a new work trailer(also toy hauler).
I picked it up from the vinyl guy today. I already had the insulation in place in the walls and ceiling. 1" rigid foam in the walls and 2" in the ceiling. I am going to just use 3/8' luan on the walls using H and J channel to cover the seams. The ceiling will be 1/4" luan. All the luan will be painted with a high quality semi gloss tough paint. I want to be able to wipe it down smooth when cleaning the inside out. I have a 110 volt 30 amp breaker system in there with 4 sets of fluorescent lights two outlets, and a wall switch. I am trying to layout where I might want more outlets. I might not add any more since I am mainly using this for storage and not really to work out of. I might put a small work bench that folds up or down and that will be near the outlets there now. I am still undecided as to exactly where everything will go. I want to keep larger items on the floor, and all tools and their cases etc. on a long shelf. I looked into the nice aluminum wall cabinets for a cleaner look but at 300-600 bucks a piece. I can't afford that right now. I will build some open shelves with dividers for power tool cases to just slide into. I'll hang the shelves from the ceiling and the wall. Next is a place for boxes of nails, and then a way to store all kinds of nails and screws in open bins, all labeled. I might end up with something from northern tool with the plastic bins for nail/screws, and see if it can mount on the wall as well. I will either put E track on the walls or D rings on the floor for tying down generators, air compressors, chop saw, table saw etc. I'll post pics as I finish it inside over the next month or two. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I have never laid a trailer out before. I want it to be thought out carefully so it is efficient to use. The brand of the trailer is RANCE ALUMINUM Renegade Model. Its 18' long with a 4' V nose. 7' high inside. A ramp in the rear, side door with pull out step, and another ramp in the front (don't tell the wife, but that's where the sleds will pull out) All LED lights including rear backup leds that are pretty bright. I may add some more lights outside up at the top of the rear ramp for loading when it's early in the morning or late at the job. All the cam locks on the ramps are stainless steel so they are harder to cut through or break. all the hinges are stainless steel and greaseable. The trailer is all aluminum, with two 3000# dexter greaseable axles. They messed up on the height a little bit, i wanted it 6 inches higher but it ended up being just fine. They threw in aluminum wheels(5 of them) spring assist on the front ramp, two more lights on the ceiling, and some other little things to make up for the mess up on the height. ![]()

That's a nice looking trailer! I work in too many tight neighborhoods, otherwise I wish I could use one.

Insulated walls, outlet, lights, side door for the sleds.......work trailer or weekend get away trailer? I'll reread your post to see if I missed out on the hot tub and built in keg.
Looks really sharp, my only two concerns are: The Skidoo logo looks bigger than your info. License plate being mounted so high...legal? Maybe take the license plate and mount it over the SKidoo logo?

Re: Trailer Is Here, Lettered....
just over 8 feet wide inside. for two sleds to fit side by side.
![]() the ski doo font may be bolder but that is their logo. i wanted it on there. it's down low, and so the overall name and info is just fine. my font for the business is not a thick bold font. the name is still much larger and you see that before you noticed skidoo. doesn't bother me. no hot tub. most of my jobs are in single family residences with long driveways, no city work around here, if i have to , i can park on the street if it's got a shoulder. i realize that some jobs are too small and so the trailer would just have to stay home. that's ok. i know most of the time it will be very handy to have it with all my tools and equipment inside it. |

Re: Trailer Is Here, Lettered....
we get snow here, just not as much as we used to. yes the toy is a ski-doo snowmobile, and a bunch of my buddies have them as well. just got back from a trip to NY state, snow and trails were great, although it's melting up there now. I don't have any toys that play in the brown, because i'm working a lot more in the spring/summer/fall than I am in winter, most years anyways, some winters are crazy busy with large jobs going on.
anyways. on the license plate, that's where the factory put it, so I am assuming that they know the laws and it's totally fine there. I'll find out as soon as a cop sees it and doesn't like it. cole. i had the whole thing lettered with my logos, three sides, and they also removed the big RANCE logo on the back for me, it came to 450 bucks. this guy does nice work and none of his vinyl jobs on any of my trucks has been more than 500. he even does my job signs for me, they come out great. |
