Trailer Door Hinge Strength

I've got a 8.5 x 16 Haulmark trailer and I want to add plywood to the inside panels of the doors. There's not much to the doors and just wondering if anyone else who has a trailer hangs a lot of stuff on the doors. Worried more about the hinges suffering.

Re: Trailer Door Hinge Strength

I have a haulmark also and those hinges seem pretty solid. I hang extension cords, clamps etc. from a couple 1x2s I screwed up there. It isn't allot of weight but I see no issue.
Haulmark has good support if you give the factory a call they will help. I did for another reason and they were happy to help.

Re: Trailer Door Hinge Strength

I did the same thing on my Wells Cargo. Made some steel hangers for extension cords, drywall squares, shovels, brooms, straightedges, and various other smaller tools. Never had a problem, and all the stuff we used regularly was right there.

I did the same thing on my box truck doors.
