Skreetching Window!!

Every ford truck I've ever owned gets this horrible skreetching sound when I roll the window up or down. After about a year of owning it (new or used) it starts to happen. Only stops when it's raining.

Anyone else have this happen? How do you stop it? It's driving me nuts!!

Re: Skreetching Window!!

Inside the door is nylon guide blocks that keep tension on both sides of the tempered glass, they do indeed make noise as the glass is rolled past these, also.the interior and exterior weather strip swipe the glass during up and down movement.
clean your glass both inside and out, then coat with rain-x,let dry.then buff as per instructions, the siliconized polymers in rain-x will allow the glass to slide easier, and with less friction, less or no noise at all.

Thats funny! Same here Jason, every ford truck of mine has done the same thing, my current one has been doing it for a few months now

I will have to try that suggestion Glassman.

Re: Skreetching Window!!

also try cleaning the rubber guides with your finger, the new fords are notorious for collecting rocks and dirt in there. It scratches the glass too
