Last I've heard, Toyota was talking to a few companies, John Deer and Yammer I believe.
Nissan is putting the v6 power stroke in the titan in 2009. It wouldn't be to hard to see them getting the v8 into a heavy duty when Ford is done with it in 2010-2012. I'm surprised- didn't they learn anything from Ford's troubles with IH/Navstar? GMC now has a v6 Duramax for 1/2 ton trucks, and Dodge will be sporting a Cummins 4ct 4 cylinder diesel in their 1/2 tons. Ford is building a v8 6.8L diesel in house for the heavy duties. As for the F150, a Land Rover 4.4L diesel v8 has been proposed, but with ford having sold, or looking to sell Land Rover (what is the status of this deal?) I could see that changing.

The Ridgeline is a joke with no redeeming qualities IMO.

I'd be more inclined to wait until Dodge, Ford, or Toyota release their 1/2 ton diesels- I would prefer to stay away from the powerstroke.

I'm not sure what you are asking- The dodge will probably be a Cummins 4.5L I4 4ct turbodiesel, and the only engine I've heard for the ford is a Landrover 4.4L v8 turbodiesel, and I have no idea what toyota's engine will be.

The Navistar 7.3 is a great motor. Ford jumped the gun on the 6.0 hence all the problems, the 6.4 so far seems good.

Ford has already issured several recalls for the 6.4, It's not a great start for a new engine. Ford doesn't seem too pleased either- athough the contract with international runs out in 2012, Ford is going to drop them as soon as they can put their in house diesel on the market, probably 2010.
