Removing Rear Seat From F150

I have a F150 supercab and seldom haul any passengers so have been thinking about removing the rear bench seat to make more room for storage of tools and supplies. Curious to know if any of you guys have done this and whether it was worth the effort.

Never had a F150 but I took the back seats out of a car I had to make room for 2 18" subwoofers. Of course I thought it was worth it back then but what did I know I was only 18. It was not bad taking the seats out but it most likely be unfinished under it just bare metal.

Re: Removing Rear Seat From F150

Chuck,

I have a Supercab and thought about pulling out the seats. But I didn't....

I took two pieces of 3/4 ply and put a complemented bevel that matched the angle of the rear of the front seat. The other piece rests on top of the folded up seat and on top of that piece of beveled plywood. Kind of like a table.

I built a box/drawer that sits on top of the shelf directly behind my head. I put caulks and other crap in the drawer.
I put drop cloths, extenson cords, and other cheap items on top of the shelf behind the passenger seat.

Below the shelf (out of view from anyone looking in) I have the sawzall, drills, jigsaw etc....

I suppose taking out the seats would give me a little more room, but frankly, I don't think it's worth the aggravation or risking stripping some POS Ford screws and really being SOL.

I'll take a pic when I get a chance.
